Cancer sucks. It’s one of those universal truths. But what we don’t talk about is what happens after cancer. After it’s “cured”. That weird, ever-present anxiety that creeps up on you and doubles-down around testing.
As I’ve learned, life’s best plans go awry. Thankfully my new lifestyle allows me to (somewhat) expect the unexpected. Having a sick kid home from school for days, plus visits to the pediatrician, and a surprise ER visit would normally cause a shit-ton of anxiety.
Narrowing the 60+ books I read in 2018 to fewer than 10 was impossible, as always. So I did the best I could.
